We spent three days trekking with Rachid, our guide, in the Tafraoute region. When we asked our two children what they enjoyed most during their 10-day stay in Morocco, they answered without hesitation: "the trek!" Indeed, Rachid had organized a tour perfectly suited to our 9- and 13-year-old children (which isn't always easy given their ages). With walking, observation, a few explanations, and wonderful discoveries throughout the days, everyone was delighted. Thanks to him, who knew how to adapt to everyone with great professionalism. What an organization! We ate well (nice picnics that invigorated the troops), well-chosen lodges, and an itinerary that suited us with changing landscapes.
A big thank you also to Abdou, who accompanied us and assisted Rachid.

We had an excellent three day trek with Rachid. Summiting Jebel Lkst on the first day and staying with a local family and then in a traditional house in mountain villages. Rachid was a great guide - providing excellent info, conversation and fantastic lunches. Definitely recommended!

I went on a 2-day trek in the Jebel Lkest massif with Abdu as my guide. We took a car from Tafraout to Tagdicht, where we started our trek. It was difficult because it was a long, steep hike, but we were rewarded with spectacular views throughout. We had lunch on the summit of Jebel Lkest, overlooking the magnificent mountains and valleys in all directions. From there, we descended to the village of Ait Iftene, which lies in a valley overlooking a dramatic rock wall. There we were welcomed by Abdu's friend, Yessine, and were served delicious food and tea, provided with a comfortable bed and even a hot bucket shower. After a hearty breakfast the next morning, we embarked on another difficult climb, up and over a ridge where Abdu served another balanced lunch. Then we strode along a canyon to Anirgui, enjoying jaw-dropping views along the way. From there, it was a steep switchback trail down to the beautiful Ammelne Valley, where we found a vehicle back to Tafraoute. The entire route was pretty difficult, but well worth the effort because the landscape was so extraordinary and we hardly saw another person.

Abdu was the consummate professional, so knowledgeable, friendly, accessible and attentive. He made an exceptional effort to look after me and provide an outstanding service. I highly recommend Abdu as an excellent guide with vast knowledge of the area.

We did the most amazing 3 day hike with Abdu. He was a great guide - friendly, organised and very knowledgeable about the local nature and culture. We learned so much about the area and enjoyed amazing scenery, food, tea, and local hosts. He was incredibly accommodating when we were planning the trip and he was able to offer us a route to worked perfectly for us. We would recommend Widetrek to anyone thinking about visiting the area 🙂

Meeting Abdou, Rachid and their friends was a lovely experience. We were introduced to their culture and their land and we spent wonderful days cooking, hiking, chatting or just singing in the car.
